controls all major camera functions electronically for ultimate accuracy and reliability. permits viewing, focusing, metering, and filming without removing eye from finder. key features:

  • electronically controlled motor drive. integral electric motor provides instant start/stop at 9 operating speeds: 10, 12, 18, 20, 24, 25, 32, 40, and 50 f.p.s. plus reverse run, continuous run and single frame. plug-in 13-oz. nicad battery provides 600' film drive, rechargable in either 14 hours or 1/2 hour depending on charger. optional heavy-duty nicad battery powers 2000' of film per charge. built-in battery discharge signal.
  • electronically controlled thru-the-lens metering. instant response silicon photocell provides center-weighted light measurement at film plane, operated by solid-state 'match-the-diode' led display in finder, for all films asa 10-630 at all filming speeds. acurrate taking-aperture metering thru any lens, filter, or accessory. led symbols are shockproof, easily-seen even in dimmest light.
  • electronically controlled sound syncronization. special 'crystal' position on f.p.s. dial for use with accessory crystal-control module in cordless synch operation with any crystal-controlled recorder. accuracy of crystal-synch within one frame per 400 feet. another synch method, reliable cord-connected double-system sound, is provided by synck pulse generator with automatic slating (clapstick) lamp.
  • precision claw registration/transport. unique bolex mechanism maintains perfect registration even in multi-exposure work, assures excellent image steadiness in blow-ups to 35mm for theatrical use.
  • automatic film threading/loop action. exclusive bolex design threads film through gate automatically for error-free loading even in bright daylight. automatic device forms loops; restores them instantly if ever lost in filming. automatic spool ejector speeds unloading.
  • 100-400' reel capacity. accepts single or double-perforated 100' film rolls; accessory 400' magazine and take-up motor permit use of 200' daylight spools or 400' of film on core in magazine.
  • bayonet lensmount. massive 60mm-diameter lensmount is so secure, camera may be carried by lens if desired. accessory bayonet adapter permits use of c-mount lenses and accessories.
  • flicker-free reflex viewing. brilliant reflex finder shows image with 13x magnification, free of flicker or blackout at all times; matte groundglass surface for pinpoint focusing accuracy. individual +/- 5 diopter adjustment with lock; contoured rubber eyecup supplied. built-in eyepiece blind.
  • unlimited film rewind with 100' spools. electrically-powered reverse wind coupled to auto-reset footage and frame counter for full special-effects capabilities; precision frame counter records to 1000 frames.
