"PRO-600" CAMERA

The Auricon Pro-600 Camera has a capacity of 600 ft. of
16mm film on laboratory core packing. On special order,
magazines which will handle both spools and laboratory core
film can be obtained. Single or double perforated film can
be used.
The intermittent film movement used is made of hardened
and precision ground steel imparting a sine wave movement for
transport of film. The claw enters the film slowly, accelerates
during the center of the pulldown cycle and slows down to a
gentle stop at the end of the stroke, leaving the film accurately
placed in the gate ready for exposure.
The threading of the Pro-600 is somewhat similar to the
Cine-Voice except that film is carried from and to the external
magazine, rather than to daylight spools within the camera case.
On the inside of the camera door a threading diagram indicates
the complete film path. Care must be exercized to make certain
that the film is properly engaged upon the sprocket teeth, and
that the claw can enter and leave the perforations cleanly
without punching the film or losing loops. Before running with
power, it is advisable to turn the camera over slowly by hand
with the knurled Spinner Knob on the sprocket. If action is
satisfactory with manual turning, several feet of leader should
be run through the camera with the motor as a further check for
proper film transport movement and takeup action.
When the camera is plugged into a 115V AC line, the neon
pilot light indicates that current is reaching the camera. When
connected in this way, the film takeup motor runs at 1/3 power
providing a small steady pull on the takeup while the camera is
not running, preventing the the film from unwinding loosely
within the takeup chamber. When the camera motor is activated
full power is applied to the takeup roll.

If for some reason, the takeup belt is left off, or if the takeup fails, the camera drive motor will be deactivated preventing the

film from buckling.
This model is supplied with either a single lens mount, or
3-lens turret. The 4" diameter turret accomodates "C" mount
lens with Auricon Tele-Finder system. There is a 2-1/2"
seperation between lenses permitting the use of wide angle and
reletively long focal length lenses without optical interference.
The precision viewfinder system gives excellent correction
for parallax error, and an interchangeable door is available for
use with Zoom lens and its auxiliary finder.
The three-lens turret model has available a critical ground
glass focusing arrangement through an eyepiece on the side of
the camera body. Since the turret must be swung for focusing, a
safety switch prevents accidental running of the camera until the
lens turret is returned to shooting position.

Lubrication. Oil should be applied sparingly, using one drop in
eachhole for each five days of use. Singer sewing machine oil
or any fine grade of light weight machine oil may be used. All
necessary points of lubrication are plainly indicated with red
paint dots on the inside of the film chamber panel.

The Film Magazines are equipped with positive light traps
which always remain closed except when the magazine is
mounted upon the camera. Pushing the bright metal plunger
will lock trap open when magazine cover is removed to permit
threading. When the cover to the feed side of the magazine is
installed the light trap is automatically closed by the cover
depressing the red plunger. When securing the magazine covers,
place in position, rotate counter clockwise until threads "snap"
into alignment, then rotate clockwise until secure.
