In 1929 the Kodel Electrical and Mfg Company introduced the Homovie system. The camera used ordinary 16mm film, but produced four small pictures within the normal 16mm frame. The gate of the camera oscillated from side to side while the camera was running, and the film was pulled through the gate half the normal length at a time.
