Who are the "Dirty Pair"...?

2141 A.D. Humankind has steadily expanded into space. Now that warp drives are commonplace, more than 3,000 worlds have been terraformed and colonized - and most of the are members of the Untied Galactica.

Yet crime persists even in this age, and the planetary authorities sometimes encounter problems they can't handle, or which could escalate into real threats to the United Galactica (such as the infamous Kuraretta trinary star incident). In such dire instances, the UG petitions the Worlds Welfare Work Association (or 3WA) for help (although the Central Computer will sometimes send agents even without formal request). This help, if given, comes in the form of "Trouble Consultants," teams of pan-galactic police specially recruited and trained by the 3WA.

Kei and Yuri - codenamed the "The Lovely Angels" - are the best the 3WA has to offer. Unfortunately for the citizens they serve, the duo - while never failing to solve a case - usually manages to level cities, continents, and even planets in the performance of their duties. Hence their hated nickname, "The Dirty Pair." Fortunately for Kei and Yuri - but probably not for the galaxy at large - the Angels have been cleared of responsibility in every case by the Central Computer. Thus, despite the mayhem they make, the Dirty Pair continue as favored 3WA agents, solving crimes and wreaking catastrophe across the terrified galaxy...
