Designed for informing my visitors of noteworthy items on both my site, and the Internet in general.

Suggested minimum viewing is 800 x 600 at 16 bit high color.

Although the site is browseable with almost any PC (even AOL @ 256), the site does contain java, javascript, shockwave, flash, DHTML, IE 6.x enhancements, and hi-res graphics that will all look better in a hi-res. environment with java and flash plugins enabled. Some items not available in Netscape browsers older than the 6.x versions.

Site designed at 1024 x 768 x 32 bit color.

July, 2003: New wallpaper. Including a few NASCAR wallpapers.  I've noticed a problem with the Index page of the wallpaper section concerning the java app, and some firewalls.  I'm working on a resolution.  Until then I will post the page list on the sitemap.  more news ...

  • July 15, 2003:  Yahoo purchases Overture.  more ...
  • June 2003: The latest Google dance was thrown into confusion for a couple days while Google sorted through the new algorythims.
  • April 2003: Yahoo purchases the Inktomi search database company in efforts to regain lost clients.  While they compete with Google, Yahoo declared that the two companies would continue to partner with one another to provide the best possible solutions to the Internet.
  • February 19, 2003: Internet Hacker News: Over 8 million credit card numbers were stolen through the Internet.  FBI and other federal authorities searching for culprit.
  • February 2003: The Code Red virus has once again resurfaced in an effort to Slow the Internet with DoS.  the WWW was prepared and very little damage was actually done
  • February 2003: AT&T starts splitting off some of its Internet and phone operations to Comcast.
  • January 24, 2003: SQL slammer worm disabled many ATM machines and slowed the Internet greatly.  Effects lasted less than half a day.  While this was most likely not an 'attack', but rather a test, it did show MANY vulnerabilities that many of the main Internet components had.
  • January 2003: the Internet was once again subjected to an attack.  Similar to the Code Red DoS (Denial of Services) attack (Feb. 2001), this slowed many Internet connections to a crawl on a Saturday morning.  The good news was that everyone recovered very quickly from this, and it was more of an annoyance than anything else.

Viruses, Hackers and "script kiddies continue to plague the Internet, so remember to get your Anti-Virus program into place, and keep it updated often, and, consider using a Firewall to protect your PC.  Details...
