Ashland Chemical Co. - Neville Island (Pittsburgh), PA.

Inventory, document, and coordinate conversion from Banyan Vines network
to NT network.

Research, document, and implement Y2K compliance issues; including BIOS,
software, and driver upgrades.

Initiated and published the plants first newsletter.

Research, sandbox, and implement client/server database program which required
NetBEUI protocol being established as the primary, and still maintained
connectivity to NT, and Banyan Vines.

I performed upgrades to over 50 computers to Windows 95 on Banyan Vines
Networking, and connectivity to NT domain.

Research, sandbox, and implement the installation of AutoCAD r.14 on Token
Ring when CAD technicians were unable to implement the install. This involved
multiple protocols, and Networking systems to use both Banyan Vines, and
NT (TCP/IP)

Implemented the co-habitation of Banyan Vines and NT with different configurations
depending upon the profiles users were granted.

Assisted other plants with issues and questions regarding their networking
and programs. Assisted in installation and design of some of their databases.

Document and explained our network architecture for Distributed Control
Systems vendors, and acted as our liaison during consultations of future
additions and upgrades.

Diagnose and replaced over half dozen hard drives as they failed; including
imaging and installing OS, networking, and programs.

Installed SCSI card and Flatbed Scanner to Ashland Standard Compaq 5120
and configured to the NIP LAN

Copied AutoCAD drawing files cross platform from Aristech VAX to Ashland
TR. Server (Wayne Cass / WJM) and set up directory structure to NIP LAN
(establish standard conventions of drive/directory)

Received fixed length text files from Aristech and converted / imported
to Access; established relationships, input masks, filters, forms, SQL
for Access programmer (Shawn) to work with and sort information. (MJK)

Established referential integrity in databases to filter out duplicate
parts vs. duplicate equipment. Also trouble shoot integrity and configuration
problems (Shawn / Angela / MJK)

Assisted Dublin Tech. (Gary Christopher) in configuration and installation
of SQC database to NIP LAN (requires knowledge of QEMM in order to maintain
580 Kb of conventional DOS memory to run program

Assisted Dublin LAN engineer (Tom Lectner) in initial setup of NIP LAN
system and configuration.

Reconfigured Compaq computers (30+) to link to the NIP network (pcconfig;
NIC *.drv & *.sys drivers)

Converted Lotus 123 files to Excel for CPD (Steve Mounts) and department
supervisors from Dublin.

Research, purchase, and implement laptop upgrade to use removable CD-ROM
drive and additional memory.

problems to network printer GP Solutions, OpenInsight, and major computer
consulting firm from New York were unable to resolve these issues after
months of research and programming), Installation program overwrites dll
files with unusable copies making MS Office unusable. (Created and distributed
fix program for this) Note: These fixes allowed GP Solutions to move forward
on the development and distribution of their programs.

and corporate offices in logging into their LAN system while at the Neville
Island facility.
