CityNet System StatusJuly 12, 2004 3:40pm - DSL service has been restored to the affected customers. 2:00pm - Some CityNet DSL customers are experiencing an outage of service as of 1:50pm. This is a Verizon-related outage, with other ISPs as well as CityNet affected. Verizon technicians are working on restoring service and we will provide any updates as soon as we have them.
9:00am - CityNet has received information about the
Sasser worm (for more information, please check out the BBC and Sarc), which is affecting much of the Internet including Verizon's DSL routers through the Pittsburgh area. The network traffic caused by the spread of this worm is resulting in slow throughput for CityNet's DSL customers.
May 2, 2004 From approximately 5:50 p.m. to 8:30 p.m CityNet's dial up phone lines were out of service due to a fire at the central office of the phone company which handles the lines. Most people heard a fast busy or "all circuits are busy" message when trying to connect to the CityNet. Currently the service has been restored. If you have any questions or are still having difficulty getting connected please call CityNet at 412-481-5406.
